it was madness tryin' to get our youth to play limbo rock...hilarious, too! in theme with the nite's topic, we got several youth to bend their backs (literally) to prove our point. and after a blast of praise & worship which was awesomely led by rachel and the praise team, it was time for the point of the nite. janice shared a brief devotional on 1 corinthians 9:24-27 and then we played a game called 'race of life' in which each CG sent 4 representatives for a round of 'racing' - each time, some of the racers would get some handicap or disadvantage, with the 2nd rep 'inheriting' the handicaps of the 1st, and the 3rd of the 2nd, and so on. by the time it was the 4th round, pretty every team's racer had been handicapped in one way or another. time was running out! so we quickly got into our CGs, sat down and had a chat about that passage janice read and the game we played - how does it relate to our christian life and excellence? how well do we race toward the goal God has prepared for us?
discussions went well, with some erratic standing-up to clap 4 times!!! ahahahha, obedience to the discussion notes - that was interesting. by the time the discussion was almost over, every team had already stood up and clapped. with a short little drama by serena and emmanuel, everyone was sent home thinking and evaluating their walk with God.
(oh! and the 'Return of the King' promo video that was supposed to be shown - had some technical difficulties. technology can be SO random...the audio/visual team tried their best - great job, you guys! we still luRve you hahaha!) those of us who stayed back got to see it anyway, no probs.
didn't finish very late, and punctuality is getting better - let's keep it up, Eklektolites! excellence in being punctual is honoring to God. see you this Sat!
