sept 16 youth celebration with ps chris long

it was an honor to have this man of God come that nite. been kinda an anticipation, we've asked ps chris to come over since last year oct (like 'booking' a year in advance) and finally the day arrives! thumbs up for the praise team that did an awesome job, with rachel leading the pack. (david: bravo to you for persevering with the team!) true worship flowed ...God opened hearts.

rite after that kenny took over with an anointed time of prayer. the dance team (we got the video but no photos) did a great job too! with a mix of tobymac songs edited by 'the chio' - not bad, most of 'em thot it was cool. which is, cool. yeah. the way you guys practised - hats off to the 6 of you for your determination and effort.

who's ps chris!??! hails from banting, s'gor (malaysia) - a truly experienced international youth speaker, a.k.a. veteran communicator. passion oozes out of him whenever he preaches. so does sweat *grin* but fear not, he has a hanky! people down the front row weren't in any particular danger...in fact we could tell that everyone was pretty amused by him.

he spoke abt the blind man of bethsaida - supernatural! not only was the whole crowd cracked up by his antics, but everything he said was loaded with points to note. loaded - as in muchos contentos (i'm quite sure that's incorrect - but who cares! you get me, rite?) mark 8:22-26 --> we all need:
1) friends
2) Jesus to lead us by the hand
3) to experience the supernatural
4) that 2nd touch

it was just so great to know the youth were soaking up the words, and truths coming across so relevantly. i pray for many more men and women who preach with fire in their bellies for God this way for this generation!

it was 9:55p.m. - time for the challenge...many responded to the call for ministry, even though some parents were already outside! especially those who came forward to say they wanna ask Jesus into their hearts - that was awesome! we sang a worship song and prayed for them and with them...these brave young people stepped up and responded so simply and sincerely. another plus was how these youths' friends came so eagerly alongside them to support and echo the prayer with these guys. as ps chris and i led everyone in prayer.

it was great! faith was lifted in kyrugma house that nite. we pray that these young ones continue soldiering on for Jesus, and that their lives continue to experience the powerful touch of God that opens blind eyes and heals broken hearts.

"come to the Father, though your gift is small, broken hearts, broken lives, He will take them all. the power of His Word, the power of His blood, everything was done, so you would come."

it's another nite i will remember. a heartfelt reminder of why i do what i do - in fact, why many others do what they do. God is powerful, yet He calls conduits of His grace. in whatever ways, when we are somehow a part of leading just ONE person to know Jesus, you and I have heard the Father's heart and befriended another to do the same.

let's continue, eklektos.
